Interesting difference between the two pictures above. In 1927 Felix was forty and still looked young and handsome in the artistically lit studio shot.At the time things were not going too badly in his life-Irfe was operating and he published is first book.Within two years his father, the dowager Empress and GD Nicholas had died.Irfe was foundering and Felix had to sell his house on the rue Gutenburg to the frightful Mrs.Whobee.In the 1929 photo he looks much more than two years older.Never seen a picture of Mrs.Whobee.

In the photo of Felix and Irina posted by Vorontsoff (the first of the four) there appears to be a male in a white shirt reclining just off Felix's left leg.  No doubt a misinterpretation, but does anyone else see this?  A Yusupov Rorshach Test.

You're very welcome. Found them in Beauty in Exile, a wonderful book full of information! I loved the pictures of the ad's for Irfe.

HA! I never thought about that! Although in truth a mustache wasn't really the look for Felix, as it was for Ceasar Romero.

Just realized that both men had a few things in common ;)
Yussupov and Romero?

I actually have the copy of this photograph.  It is not a postcard but an actual file photo taken when The Youssoupoffs won the law suit againist MGM.  The magazine that had it and published it was Le Journal, the photo is also copyrighted.  That is what is stamped on the back.
