I post here the entire version of one of the picture Clockworkgirl posted. It was in Rostov, 22 of May 1913. The family (without AF) is hearing the famous bells of the Rostov`s kremlin.

Sorry, I can't post many full pictures. They look really sucky if I resize them too much.

With someone, looks like Maria

For me, the girl with Alexei is Anastasia, not Maria. And behind them, I may see Alix.

Well, I dont think it is Alix because I am pretty sure that this photo was taken the same day:

See the flower wreath arrangement that Alexei is behind of?

I think it's Isa Buxhoeveden.

Baroness Sophie (Isa) Buxhoeveden was a lady-in-waiting to the Empress. She wrote what's often considered the first researched biography (rather than a memoir) of Alix, which you can read here:
The Life and Tragedy of Alexandra Feodorovna

She also wrote Left Behind: Thirteen Months in Siberia During the Revolution which tells what happened in her own life after her separation from the Imperial Family. A third book by Buxhoeveden is called Before the Storm, but I haven't read that one!

According to Greg King & Penny Wilson in Fate of the Romanovs, Buxhoeveden allegedly betrayed the Imperial Family by revealing the location of their hidden jewels (aka: "the medicines") in exchange for her own safety.

On second thought -- it's not Alix's sister, Irene of Prussia, is it  ???

They were after all...just jewelry. As things turned out...it doesn't seem to matter...Can we judge a frightened, elderly woman...threatened with torture and death?...Who can say how we's act in her place?
