Then the Comtes du Nord visited the Castle's Appartament and were very surprised by the furnishings in perfect Louis XVI style. The Prince of Piemonte's Appartaments (the heir to the throne) was the newest and Pavel asked for the drawings the architect has made. Infact he wanted to reproduce them for his new Palace at Pavlosk. The King was very generous and he assented.

This is one of the drawing (by Leonardo Marini)

I want to point out a painting that is in the state museum in Munich. A faily large and important work by Guardi that is sometimes called The reception of the Count and Countess du Nord. Travel in foreign  places just isn't like that anymore.

This another room of the appartament (always by Marini)
It is more classical. In the writtens below i can read "camera di ricevimento del principe di piemonte a Moncalieri ornata di ritratti" (Prince of Piemonte's audience chamber in Moncalieri decorated by portraits)

COMTES   DU    NORD'S  TOUR
Pavel I and his wife Maria Fedorovna started a great tour of Europe in 1781-82. They traveled with the false name of Comtes du Nord. They arrived in Turin and were received by King Vittorio Amedeo III with all honours. A big banquet and a ball was given in the evening of that day.
At the end Pavel presented the King a couple of portraits representing him and his wife. They are now in the Miniature Cabinet of the Royal Palace.

I' discovered also Alexander II went in Turin in 1839 ca.
I'm going to put a waterpaint with him during a court ball.
