I recently read Michael and Natasha and really enjoyed it, but I agree with another poster in the previous thread that stated that the authors seemed to be under Natasha's spell. She strikes me as one of those people you either love or you hate ... I tend to lean toward the latter. She strikes me as being out for what she could get and if she could improve her social standing by changing husbands, so be it. I really think she would have dumped Michael for Dmitri Pavlovich if there had been any percentage in it, but she was already married to a brother of the Tsar and there was nowhere to go but down.

I am also reading Michael & Natasha by the Crawfords. Very good read I look forward to nighttime when my girl has gone to bed and I can read it. I am to WWI and love all the pictures in the book. He was quite handsome. I studied Russian history but he was a figure I did not study very much so it is great to find out more about him. Fascinating life!  Are there any other good books on him? Love the pics of him with his son and Tata seems to love him as her stepfather.

I couldn't agree more.  If Michael wasn't a Grand Duke and especially a brother to the Tsar. I don't think Natasha would have given him the day or time.

Michael seemed like a down-to-earth, kind and sensible being. He served quite well in the army despite it being a punishment for bringing disgrace onto the IF. It was shame that he was embroiled in such controversy during his lifetime and I believe he could have made a decent Tsar.

surely wrong forum and the wrong thread but have no pictures of Natalia Cheremetevskya, later princess Romanovskaya-Bras Sleep and her son?? they had any me dövriga family before and after ech life in exile?? exciting Fagor I want answers ... if it is the wrong thread to refer me right will you?
