I'm going to quit succumbing to the urge to be shy and mention that my YA novel about OTMA is going to be available from Simon & Schuster this June:
THE LOST CROWN
Olga, Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia. Like the fingers on a hand--first headstrong Olga; then Tatiana, the tallest; Maria the most hopeful for a ring; and Anastasia, the smallest. These are the daughters of Tsar Nicholas II, grand dutchesses living a life steeped in tradition abd priviledge. They are each on the brink of starting their own lives, at the mercy of royal matchmakers. The summer of 1914 is that precious last wink of time when they can still be sisters together--sisters that link arms and laugh, sisters that share their dreams and worries, and flirt with the officers of their imperial yacht.
But in a gunshot the future changes — for these sisters and for Russia.
As World War I ignites across Europe, political unrest sweeps Russia. First dissent, then disorder, mutiny — and revolution. For Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia, the end of their girlhood together is colliding with the end of more than they ever imagined.
At the same time hopeful and hopeless, naive and wise, the voices of these sisters become a chorus singing the final song of Imperial Russia. Impeccably researched and utterly fascinating, this novel by acclaimed author Sarah Miller recounts the final days of Imperial Russia with lyricism, criticism and true compassion.
The cover's a little...fluffy for hardcore Romanov fans, but I think you'll be pleased with the contents. Bob, Rob, Greg King, Penny Wilson, and Helen Rappaport all vetted the manuscript for me and have vouched for its accuracy. I've had word from my editor that Booklist's next issue will carry a flattering review, but I have to say the best responses I've gotten so far are from Holly & Simon (Louis_Charles).
Thank you to everyone who's helped and encouraged this project over the last several years -- the acknowledgements read like a who's who of the APTM.
Saruska, i've to admit i can't wait to read your book; but, since i don't live in the Us neither in the Uk (pity) i'll try to get it in amazon... my birthday is at the end of may, and so i think you're book will be my personal gift for myself
i really like the way you describe otma, and, for i've been wrtitten about otma since i was 12, this is so exciting for me.
Well, wait... i don't think i'll be so brave to try to publish what i've written - i'm so shy, ad here in italy i'ts so difficult to find someone who wantstopublish you - and moreover, if i maaged to be published, the novels would be in italian... so it would be traslated... to be short, i don't think you'll be able to read something writte by me
But... i'll be able to read your novel! i'm soooo excited!!!
