In the series that larri posted, there's one with Tatiana where she seems to have short hair.  Is that the case, or is it just tied up in a unique way?  Either way, it really suits her.

Nah. it's simply just tied back like with a bow i think either that or it's simply behind her ears! These are before 1913 when her hair was shortened!  :)

The 2nd photo ,with just Alix and Anastasia,  was taken well before the first with all the girls, ( note AF's hair and AN's youth....) But the interior reminds me of the photo where all the children are gathered about AF and they are in striped sailor outfits...Alexis being one or two years old

I love that book and have it - altho' I don't read Russian, the pictures alone make it a very worthwhile book to own!
