Fire everywhere.... I'm updating this thread to bring news that my beautiful province has once again been hit by wildfires. This time they hit the small southern Alberta towns of Lethbridge and Coalhurst and both were evacuated to Picture Butte, AB (it is just north of Lethbridge) due to the blaze.
On another note, the Okotoks grain tower, which is about fifteen minutes from my home (also in Okotoks) burned to the ground yesterday night. At this time no one is sure if it is due to natural causes or what not, but smoke is still wafting around a bit where I am.
On the other end of the province, in July of this year, a series of wildfires ripped through northern Alberta, effectively blanketing the entire city of Edmonton in a thick haze of smoke.
Thankfully those who were evacuated due to the wildfires are now home and safe. As far as I know there were no deaths, and I keep those who lost their homes/property in the fires in my heart.
