Yukovsky's mauser Maria & Alexei
« on: November 29, 2011, 07:05:07 PM »
Does anyone know the serial number of Yukovsky's mauser pistol that he used to kill the IF with. I have the s/ns of the other 3 handguns used on them that are on display at the museum of the revolution.

Have they done a facial reconstruction of Maria and Alexei as what was done with the other members of the IF? I am interested how they may have looked at the time of their murder.

Thanks in advance

I don't think the fragments found were sufficient to create a facial reconstruction.

Indeed...those reconstructions were possible because the skulls were recovered...with Alexis and his sister's remains , I believe only  a piece of the sister's skull was recovered and not the facial area at all

In the National geographic channel documentary i saw about the finding of the last 2 children, they clearly said that the bones fragment were so tiny they could hardly say something; it was not even easy to say surely they were human beings! And, if i recall well - i'm going on memory - none of those pieces was from skulls, or at least, so few of them they could not did a reconstruction. Even extract the DNA and analyze it was very difficult.
The documentary is pretty famous, so you can look for it; the original is in English. It's vert well done.
