About the picture of the child in the frame:According to the giant book Nicholas and Alexandra exhibition p. 133 - "the child is most probably Count Boris Petrovich Sheremetv (born 1901)". The provenance came from the Sheremetev collections.
I admit, I'm a little skeptical of these authors' identification of the child as Aleksei. There were a few scattered errors in other photographs of the imperial children, so it's very possible that they were mistaken in this case as well, and that Condecontessa's source is correct.
I just adore this picture, does anyone know what year it was taken in and if there's a clearer version of it?
