Just a Thought on Claimants
« on: January 07, 2005, 09:52:45 PM »
Okay, first off have any claimants EVER posted here? I mean, why WOULD they, you're mostly all rude and would just make fun of them. Having imperial claimants post here would be interesting, if they were ever taken seriously, or at least respected. This is so sad. This is mainly an adult forum, yet I don't know how many times people's views have been put down and laughed at! How many valuble members have we lost from these boards because of immature comments and lack of an open mind? I don't think anyone has ever been convinced that they aren't royalty by people not taking them seriously. You've just made their "cause" stronger. But I know if I were a claimant, I would try to stay away from that subject on these boards. Not everybody's crazy, you know.

Oh yes, believe me they have! They do not by any means stay away.

I want to ask you to please not lump everyone into one package and say that everyone here is rude. Yes, there are some rude people here, just like any other forum of this nature, but by far not everyone. Some people have been pushed into being rude by other's rudeness, which of course doesn't make it ok. But unless you feel that whoever disagrees with your own ideas and presents arguments against them equals "rude", how can you say "everyone" is?  ??? Isn't that the whole point of a discussion forum?

I'm with Helen, and I am also rather offended by your "Holier-than-thou" post, Dandywell. Who do you think you are to criticise everyone on this board?  >:(

Nothing bad mates, but..I don't feel it as serious-here it almost seems that you're preparing for fight, are ya? ;D

My points on this:
1) Someone is rude, but WITHOUT THAT we will not come to conclusions and further research on subjects-it is good for finding new ideas and starting to thing critically. Yes,critical thinking is something other than being rude, but being rude can provoke critical thinking. ;D.

2) Some rudeness is an extreme- but also there are many people fighting it,keeping the boards clear.

3) In fact here is on the forum  topic dedicated to serious claimants, but it has been changed into speaking with laughing stuff..I feel we need a new topic to taking SERIOUS claimants seriously.

4) If someone there isn't rude and is called rude by generalizations- you all know who you are,do you? I understand it does offend you, but also other view is that you can go over it- you know you are gentle people, so stay with knowing your value. Some people use to claim "everyone" when they wanna make something more visible when speaking about moral problem-it will catch eye of public. So it can be also taken as useful thing..because it is bringing new and fresh attention to problems.

peace to ya'll.........

Note the 'mostly'.  Of the two threads on this board that are for claimants to post in, one has been locked by the FA, and one isn't even meant to be taken seriously.
I see this as a problem. As for he Prince Alexei claimant, even his profile says he's twenty. I don't think he meant to be taken seriously, either.
Holier-than-thou? I never pointed you out, never said it was you. I'm not saying I'm any better than those who do make fun of claimants. I'm just tired of it.

I don't think it's "mostly", I think it's just "some". Most people on this forum are very nice. Unfortunately, the ones you have come across are "mostly" rude - but maybe it's due to the type of topics you are on...  Check out other topics and you will get to know many great people.

I don't know for sure, but maybe the reason for this attitude toward the claimants here is because most of them are stark raving mad! Please note the "most"  ;)

Helen's right, there are many nice people here and to call most people rude is unfair.

Actually, all of the claimants are dead. They would pretty much have to be, with the youngest  possible claimant needing to be about 100 years old - potential Alexeis. So, we are left with the friends and relatives of claimants only.

Dandywell,
First off, you don't necessarily know as much as you might on the subject. For example, several "claimants" who have come here are well known to most researchers on the subject, like Bob, Greg, Penny, and Peter.  Alot of that road has been gone down before and the claimants TO A ONE all come up bogus.

There is nothing wrong to DEMAND a "claimant" provide solid evidence, not just a story that Grandpa in Italy was really the surviving Alexei who married his sister Anastasia secretly and had kiddies.

For a while, one of the first such "claimants" said the IF had been rescued by SPACE ALIENS who transported them to modern day...should THAT have been given serious discussion?  Another claimed that GD Michael A. survived and MARRIED his niece Olga N. who also "survived" and they had kiddies together...yet he refused to provide genuine proof of that claim...

IF we "took the time" to listen to the constant ramblings of "claimants" without proof, there would be hundreds of pages of that junk, which would distract for the point of this forum, which is VALID historical discussion of the history, events, people and most importantly EVIDENCE.

Right, that's a good point. In any case, most of them appear to not be playing with a full deck. Sorry for the generalization, but this is just my humble impression.

My original question being answered, I offer my apologies to those who were in any way offended by this thread. Apparently, I had too much whipped cream last night. I know I don't know as much as most people on these boards, as I am new, but from what I have so far seen, it wasn't very pretty. I was expressing frustration last night, and went a bit too far. My original question was just going to be 'have any claimants ever posted here', but, apparently, my keyboard ran away with me. In the two "Imperial Claimants Post Here" topics, (which are ridiculously long) I saw no claimants (for as far as I got) and much ridicule. All I can say is that I hope the new "Imperial claimants" topic will remain exactly that. I see nothing wrong with demanding proof, but I think that can be done in a respectful way, as I'm sure it has been done at some point.

Most claimants have been discredited, and those who have not largely discredit themselves with their silly claims, so they are about the same, really. And yes, now the main people are dead, so it is only families who would be claiming, the second generation so to speak. And this has happened ( no surprise). I suppose we laugh, but you can only respect legitimate things, not things that are clearly not legitimate at all.

Some people are rude here and ridiculed others (I always thought that, yes...some people IS ridicoulous, indeed. ..but that if we starts to be mean with them and laugh at them disrepectfully, we'll become more ridicoulous than them), but not all members of the AP. Most of them are really great, kind and likes to share intersting information with other people. Did you know Mandie and Tania? As soon as you knows them both, you'll adore them! So, keep faithful to us. You'll find marvelous people here.
