Visit to Hay-on-Wye????
« on: July 05, 2011, 02:54:36 AM »
So I'm most likely going on vacation in October (nowhere near Europe) but thought about making a stop over in the city, as someone mentioned in a previous post that it was famous for books. I figured I"ll never go again, but is it worth the trip? It seems like it's really difficult to get to, especially as a tourist. I would only be going for the books. I just think it's so cool to be known for books.

IMO it is not worth the bother to get there. Unless you drive, train stations are a distance away, bus  might be an option.  If you decide to go, however, check out their website, it will give you more information.
 It is in Wales, BTW.

Pookiepie, Hay on Wye is not a city, its a really charming, pretty little town but it is difficult to get to. If you love books of all kinds then it is a wonderful place to visit. You would need to catch a train to Hereford ( thats an experience in itself :-)  ) and then there is a regular bus service to Hay.
