What do you think/feel about your obsession?

I wonder, what do you think/feel about when you look at anything about the Romanovs? Or any other obsession that you have devoted a lot of time to?
My obsession is definitely the Romanovs, and I really want to either cry or laugh when I see anything to do with them. Most of the time I sit there with watery eyes and an eye to eye smile. XD  what about you?

Actually, they make me wish so much that I could have known them, spent time with them, shared in their joys and sorrows. They make me wish I had access to a time machine, so I could go back with hemophelia clotting factor for Alexei and Prozac for Alix and nicotine patches for Nicky ...

I have always been mocked for it. Where i live, quite none is interested in them, not as so many people are in the US, at least. Or at least people around me have always judged me crazy or something, but anyway i'm happy because this "obsesion" (but i call it passion) gives me something that nothing nor none else has never managed to give me.

I'll have to agree with Sunny - I call it a passion. Even here in America, the Romanovs - especially OTMA - are not featured in very much movies and books. When I see them I get really excited, because it's just so rare, you know?

Boy do I know! It doesn't matter what you call it, its a part of you bestfriendsgirl, i have thought about that so much like you would not believe! What would i say to them, what would i call them? Your highness, Madame,grand duchess etc. ? Would i kneel down in front of them and cry? Probably. How would I explain the future to them? Personally, I would gather up all of the hemophilia attacks of alexei and what caused them and leave them with the list.
People have mocked me too, don't get me wrong, but everyone has a passion, and caring what other people think of yours just makes one unsure of what that passion really is. And @ Sunny, here you fit in just right you like Romanovs, and that makes you normal, at least to us!

Hey, another person who wishes they had a time machine.  I would use said machine to get them out of there and bring them back to our time.  Not only would they do well here (I could see Nastya and Maria on Facebook), but Alexei could live a normal life, because hemophilia can be treated now.

Yeah, Tim, and Tatiana would probably become a doctor, since women can do that here and now, and maybe Olga would have become an author? Maybe she would have the nerve to publish some of her poetry. Yup, I sure wish I had a time machine!

Wouldn't you just love to explain, say, an iPhone or Android to them? "See, it's a telephone, telegraph, gramophone and cinema all in one! Oh, and you can bank and shop on it, too!" Nicky would probably go nuts over one!

LOL, bestfriendsgirl! And, if Olga liked to read as much as everybody says she did, imagine showing her a kindle, or Anastasia an iPod? I can just imagine Anastasia cranking up some rock or '80's pop (sorry, I can't imagine her with something like "Dynamite" - I'd have to say she's listen to "The Eye of the Tiger", or something like that  )

I always thought she would be the one to marry royalty for love and become a great queen/empress, Olga author/kindle endorser, Anastasia comedian/actress, and Maria, housewife with a job... I always thought artist/teacher.

Everyone has to have a passion! If not, life would be very boring.

Instead of showing people from the past technology, I've always wanted to see how historical figures would react to society nowadays. So much is different. Women and people of all races can do whatever they want, if they put in the effort. You don't normally have to worry about covering your legs or arms down to your elbows when you go out in public. A woman doesn't even have to wear a bra if she doesn't feel like it. I imagine interracial marriage would shock them, not to mention gay marriage!

I always wonder what people of the future would want to show us that we'd find shocking.
