Anastasia sailor suit
« on: September 18, 2011, 09:19:52 AM »
I have Olga, Tatiana and Maria's pictures of them in sailor suits, but not one of Anastasia. Does anyone else have one and the one of Maria leaning on the fence in her sailor suit? Link to others: http://s1100.photobucket.com/albums/g401/PieceOfLivingHistory/Olga%20Nikolaevna/?action=view&current=O.jpg
Thanks in advance,
GDI

Anastasia's photo also exists, it was posted by TatianaZ in coloured photos(with her signature), it was taken in 1907 on Polar Star. It can be seen in Sabline's book. Sarushka would know. Also, I recall seeing one another in sailor suit, she was seated, alone.

Sunny, that one is new to me! How cute! There are two more I know of, her sitting on a bench in front of a ship's wheel, and another of her sitting on a coil of rope, both in 1907.
Why I enjoy watching The Andy Griffith Show at 2am, I'll never know.
Why yes, I do enjoy comical stylings of Anastasia :]

I can't post links right now, but my photobucket username is natat, and at least one of them should be under the Anastasia album. If anyone else finds them first, please do post! :)

Thank you so much! I labelled them as taken on Standart in 1906 instead of Polar Star 1906. Thanks for the pics&the info!

It's marked in my files as 1905, but I didn't note my source for that date. I'd have to do some digging to confirm it. Anastasia looks decidedly younger to me in the top photo, so I'm reasonably sure it's not 1907. IMO 1906 could also be a possibility...

Not having a source, when i labelled it i wrote "1906" because it seemed to me it was taken in the period of the video in which the 5 of them are playing ring-a-ring-a-roses on the deck of the Standart. At the time i wasn't aware that they usually wore sailor suits on boards, so the pics can come from different years & - as i learned in this thread - also different ships! So the pic you're talking about could be 1906 or 1905 as well.

This information is coming froma book called *Nicholas and Alexandra: The Family Albums*. It is by Prince Michael of Greece, published in 1992, by Tauris Parke Books.

On page 46, it has the picture concerning the posts above (the 1st picture) and says (and I quote): "1904-1905. The Imperial yacht, The Polar Star. Anastasia. Aged four, the youngest daughter of the Imperial couple, dressed in her customary sailor suit, poses by the helm on the deck of the Imperial yacht."
Mashka . . . Olya . . . Tatya . . . Nastya

Many thanks to Laura Mabee for the banner!!
