In my opinion, it is all right to say, "I like Olga because she was dreamy" or "I like Maria because she was kind" as long as we understand that there was more to them than just the dreaminess or the kindness. Olga's being dreamy or Maria's being kind was just one part of who they really were. But I think Olga really was dreamy, but she wasn't dreamy around everybody. I think Maria really was kind, but she wasn't necessarily kind to everyone. Who says Maria couldn't have pulled a prank or two? The only thing I think is really wrong with those assumptions is the fact that sometimes, people read them and think that that was *all* they were. Oh, the dreamy one. Oh, the kind one. Oh, the trickster. There was so much more to them than that, and some sides of their personality might never be discovered, or have yet to be. But, like Rachel said, they probably did act differently around different people. Around my family and my cousins, I'm the, well, *not* the quiet one, I tease people and joke around and everything. But around strangers, I'm totally shy. I say absolutely nothing. So a part of me is, indeed, shy, and a part of me is the jokester. I'm both, and not wholly either one. That was probably how it was with OTMA, it's just the documentaries and biographies describe them one way, and they pprobably were that and many other things. I guess what I'm trying to say here is in my opinion, it's fine to say 'Olga is the dreamy one' or 'Ananstasia is the prankster' as long as you realize that, like every other human, they are not just that. They are more.

Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia are, sadly, just long dead girls in sepia photographs...
Certainly they are that of course...but if that was all, we would not be here daily discussing them.  =)

I love that, bless OTMA!! Even though they are dead, they lived at one time and they made an impact on this world just by suffering so much and being in the spotlight. Yes, they are dead, but they deserved to be studied and honored because they lived.

Olga Bernice, I agree with  Dru, very well said. There was something about these children...call it what you will....that calls to some of us here. From the time  Margaretta Eagar published her book of stories  about them, OTMA mania was on and it shows no sighs of stopping =)

As to this thread's topic, I know about 3 TN fans personally, she is well represented in my circle ...but these TN fans  are interestingly quite about it....seems her admirers are often  as "close to the vest"  ( private) as she was ! lol! But Tatiana HAS her share of admires for sure imo.
