Hi Sarushka,

Is this book any different to other similar publications, such as Belyakova?

Thanks
.

Yes, there is an English edidion too. This is the book which was refered by Sarushka.
I liked this book , because it is quite different from the others. Because the explanation of the photos are not only about architechtural features , but it is  also about the daylife of the palaces in different times.
This book was published last year for 300th anniversary of the Tsarskoe Selo.

The only other place I've seen the book in stock is at the Bookvoed shop in St. Petersburg. Unfortunately, they do not ship. But I've just recently found a store near Melborne, Florida, that imports Russian goods, books among them. It's called Russian House. I asked a week or two ago if they could get Tsarskoye Selo for my friend, and they are checking into it, but I haven't received an answer yet. I'll give them a little nudge and let them know someone else is interested...

Sarushka, what's the verdict on Romanov Revisited book? I'm saving money to buy it, but I would like to know if it was worth it.

When I bought that book, I already had about 4 dozen Romanov books in my collection. I'd estimate that 30-50% of the photos in Romanovs Revisited were new to me at that point, so I thought it was worth it. Some of the rare photos have been posted here since then, but it's probably still a nice addition to most collections, especially if you're interested in more than just NAOTMAA.

Personally I would add;
Sunset of the Romanov Dynasty  [ed. Panfilov]
Tsar- the Lost World by Kurth
Camera & the Tsars by Zeepvat.
Romanov Family Album [intro. by Massie]
There are many others, especially in Russian and French.

Private World of the Last Tsar: In the Note and Photographs of General Count Alexander Grabbe
by Paul & Beatrice Grabbe

Royal Russia: The Private Albums of the Russian Imperial Family
by Carol Townend

Romanovs: Love, Power & Tragedy
by Alexander Bokhanov, Vladimir Oustimenko, Zinadia Pereguova, & Lyubov Tyutunnik

I am only repeating recommendations by older members.  ;-)

Nicholas & Alexandra [ed. Sutcliffe].
This is actually an exhibition catalogue, from the Hermitage collections.   The illustrations are superb, most in colour. [excepting the historical photographs, naturally] 408 pages, hardcover.

I particularly like Tsar, the lost world of Nicholas and Alexandra by Peter Kurth...it's full of wonderful photos of the Romanovs and their palaces.

Prince Michael's book is by far my favorite.  I've come across one called "Anastasia's Album".  It's a very thin hardcover book but it includes some watercolor backgrounds and more than a few photos that were hand colored by AN.
