Generally i'm sceptical towards remakes of great movies, expecially made by Italians! (= read: i found awful the remake of Wuthering heigts that was on italian tv some years ago, It undertood nothing of the book.) But i'm obviously exaggerate. I didn't like the remake of Anna Karenina with Sophie Marceau, for example, it had good scenes but bad linked together, and Vrosnkj is the "bad boy" from the beginning >(Tolstoj would have killed the director, IMHO). But i missed this War and Peace, like Annie. I'm going to have a look ^^
Reading, i much preferred Anna Karenina to War and Peace (most pages of War and Peace describing battles were simply unbearable for me and i did not like the ending. I HATED Pierre as a carachter, i would have liked him to die in battle and end of games but, alas, he was too coward even to die in battle... -_-" but i'm going OT now). I adored Anna Karenina, instead, and read it 4 times. But i'll have a look to see if it's something good (mty standards for a film taken from a book are very high, alas).

yes it was the same italian actor of War and Peace, :Alessio Boni. I found him in Wuthering heigts very suitable with the idea I had of the character, even if the story was not well rapresented, his way of express strong feelings impressed me!
