Her Majesty even takes her wonderful wig to Australia.    Why not.

Her Majesty even takes her wonderful wig to Australia.    Why not.

Yes Douglas you tried to assert that point in Part 3, but we all still await the evidence !:

"My fellow thread posters seem to feel that it is somehow embarrassing and beneath the dignity of the monarch to wear a wig.  The truth is that she does so as a convenience.

Yes, Alexander, she does have a "hair style that she can do without help."  That's because she always has her 'hair' waiting for her on her makeup table.

And yes, she keeps her wigs on the makeup table in her bedroom.  This is because she considers her bedroom a 'private place'.  Why would she need to hide them herself?  Yes, Dominion, she is not concerned with frivolities like hair styles....that's exactly why she wears wigs in public.
If you look at the hair that occasional peaks out from her scarfs at Balmoral, you will notice that it is a completely different color than the gleaming white wigs she wears in public.

Helen Mirren, who you all know played the monarch in the 2006 film,  was supplied a wig from the same company that makes QEII's wigs."

And my response then: "I understand what you assert and maintain Douglas. As you have previously stated this "fact" is mentioned in several biographies of H.M. So could you identify which ones, and the pages etc? As this is a revalation to most of us, perhaps you could provide some evidence for your assertion, aside from the hearsay you have already contributed. Thank you in advance".

And yet another eloquent post by your keyboard on this meanwhile boring non-issue...As if that is all important and there is nothing else to post, nothing new to write about in relation to HM,nothing else she does except changing your wigs all day long. Please do move on,I do not think for a sec anyone is interested. It's verbal blubber without any proof and just taking space.Thank you and goodbye Douglas.Kiddo.... ::)

Really....

I have requested previously that Douglas kindly provide "the facts" but he never has. I find his fascination with this topic quite disturbing, but there you are!

Anyway, I recall reading that when President & Mrs Obama visited The Queen, gifts where exchanged, and one of these gifts for Mrs Obama was a ruby ring commissioned and worn by Queen Victoria!! I think that's a bit much!

I tried to find a link and did find this, I have no idea if it's accurate!

Clearly the are no 'facts' for Douglas to present us with Eddie! Perhaps it's just a private fantasy of his; still perhaps it keeps him busy at weekends.

I have just been watching clips of our gracious Queen in Liverpool today.
Amongst people presented to HM was Yoko Ono.Although never a fan of Ms Ono I was struck by the extreme deference with which John Lennon's widow teated our sovereign ....she both curtsied and then bowed when talking. Her respect  is an example to many Brits whose manners have become very sloppy to say the least!

Speaking of manners, how is it that "National Review Online" refers to the Queen in terms of "Her Royal Highness?" Sovereigns are Majesties, P/princes and P/princesses are Highnesses, royal or otherwise.

Re wigs. There must be very few ladies in their late eighties who sport such an abundance of their own hair that it looks immaculate at all times, as HMs must and even fewer women of any age who don't resort to artiface of some kind.
