I don't  know if this qualifies as a crush - as Anastasia was only a young child at the time but there is a diary entry of Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich ( Quoted In "A LifeLong Passion ed. Maylunas and Mironenko) that describes a family tea where An. took a liking to his son Prince Igor - kept calling him a nice little boy and gave him flowers when he left. I wonder if Igor would have been a marriage possibility for An. if the revolution had not taken place   - especially consdering that all 4 of the Grand Duchesses expressed a desire to remain in Russia after marriage.

Imagine if they had survived.  They'd have lived in exile somewhere, not in the same style to which they were accustomed.  England was uncomfortable with the idea of Romanovs living there.  Other nations as well, for political reasons.

And they would have had thousands of desperate refugees petitioning them constantly, trying to continue living in the past....who would the family trust?  Who would be left with the finances and social stature to be able to marry the daughter of the exiled czar?  What royal family would have welcomed a daughter by marriage?

I think it would have been difficult.....

=;DBTW, I read somewhere that Edward, Prince of Wales had a crush on Olga.

Wow, if that had happened..well the Brits today would have an entirely different sets of royals with the crown.

Interesting thought...though "what ifs" are quite pointless i guess.

Who were some of Anastasija's suitors?

I don't think Anastasia had any suitors. Remember she died at 17.

Anastasia was still too young when the Empire fell apart to have suitors. As Olga_Anne said, she died at 17, so that didn't give her much of an opportunity to have them.

True, but were there any royals considered suitable enough to perhaps someday marry her? I read somewhere that there was one or two royals, but I can't remember where I read it.

It's not mentioned in anyone's correspondence.

If the Tsar rebuffed a marriage proposal for Maria when she was 16 saying she was just a schoolgirl, I doubt anyone had seriously given any thought to the marriage prospects of the youngest daughter by the time the Revolution rolled along.

nastya was way to young to have any suitors. as olga_anne said she died at the age of 17 and... during that time of the war, i think people were to preocupied at that time to think about nastya's suitors.

I have another question...Did Anastasia have interest in boys? Maria spoke very often about marrying and have children, but Anastasia seemed not interested in this matter. What do you think?

Some people are just more boy crazy than other people I think. Maybe Anastasia was one of the people who didn't really want or feel ready for a boyfriend or husband.

Exactly. It takes longer for some to reach that stage than others, particularly it seems if you're the tomboy of the family.

She could also be a later bloomer than her sisters. She still had puppy fat when she died, remember.
