I know Dora.  She's a lovely woman and a good writer.  When she was writing this I offered to help, but she never asked.  However, I know that she has a rich and sensual writing style.  That being said, another survival tale???
So long and thanks for all the fish

I think we will see more Romanov books as the big anniversaries to come start to loom ( and really for writers, they are any minute) We could easily see the Romanov survival tale become as established a historical novel gene as Regency swashbuckling! lol

However well-written the book is, it seems ludicrous to have any more survivor tales when it is now established beyond doubt that they were all killed in Ekaterinberg.

As a wannabe writer i tell you the plot of a Romanov survivor is still really interesting; i'd both read and write a book where one of OTMAA survives, but i'd like to read in it (or write) that the author (even if it's me) knows it's fictional and it can't be true. I mean, i'd write a book about it, but the very forst thing i'd write would be something like: "Dear readers, i perfectly know the IF is all dead, I know what i'm going to write is pure fiction, and hope you'll enojoy it knowing it can't be true". And i'd like to read it in a book i read, and so i'd read it with pleasure.

I agree that "survivor" stories have some fascination. I still have mine - in the bottom drawer - it was written in the early 1980s. I keep wondering how to revamp it to make it interesting and make some publisher want it. You can't know how many times I have almost shredded it thinking that no one would read something like that today with all the facts in.

Mine was based on Anna Anderson and just why she would think that she was Anastasia.  Too bad I didn't get the lead out and get the revisions done before the bones were found and before Ms. Anderson died.  I think I had an interesting angle but I am not sure I have the fortitude to go back to it.

I actually started revisions in the middle of this year, but I have been in and out of the hospital and I just never seem to have the time.  That is also why I don't post here as often as I used to.
