I like to know where he was born (which palace ??) and what his education was like. Does anyone have photos/portraits of him in his youth ?

Most likely the yule Palais (Yellow Palace). He was Alix' older brother, rarely see him as a small child...

Yes, he was born at the Yellow Mansion. He  had a military education, but also studied at Oxford, and was unlike his father a liberal.

Nice to see you're back, Kmerov  ;)

Thank you so much for the great portrait in colour and photos !!

This is the portrait you posted in black and white:

The portrait was made in 1852 by E. Jerichau-Baumann. I wonder if it's in Amalienborg Museum ??

Thank you and you are welcome. :)
Yes, the portrait is at the Amalienborg Museum. It was painted when it became clear that Frederik would become king one day.

Are any photos known of Frederiks wedding in 1869 to Lovisa (maybe a description) ?

I haven't seen a photo but by the descriptions the wedding, which took place in Stockholm, was a pretty lavish affair complete with fireworks.

They might have had individual ones (or a a family one) done from the Tuxen portrait to commemorate CIX & Louise's Golden Anniversary. Other members of the family did.

How did the Swan get on with her father- and mother-in-law ?

Queen Louise once wrote that she wished she'd been kinder and more understanding of her daughter-in-law earlier on. I think they had an uncomfortable relationship--the 'Swan family' stayed away to a large extent.
