Anna is now working on a new documentary about jewels and royals.  It should be wonderful if this series is any judge!
So long and thanks for all the fish

This DVD is available from  ABC TV Australia at this address

http://shop.abc.net.au/browse/searchresult.asp?SearchID=1174589&SearchRefineID=2433777&KeyWord=a+royal+family

You would need a region free DVD player, but they are not too hard to get on line.

Dybbøl 1864 - the Glücksborg ground zero - new Danish TV series
« Reply #63 on: November 27, 2013, 05:35:50 PM »
Danmark's Radio (Danish state broadcaster) is making a new series and movie called "1864" - about the Danish defeat in the Second Slesvig War and the Battle of Dybbøl - ground zero / Stunde Null for the Glücksborgers as the Danish RF and for all their descendants. It will be their most expensive production ever. While we are waiting, DR's radio P4 channel has made an interesting Dybbøl 1864 side: P4: Dybbøl 1864

The plan is for it to air in autumn 2014, during the centennary for WW1. And be neutral Denmarks reminder that the seeds for that conflict was sowed in Slesvig-Holstein (the Nordic Balkans?) and that millions of lives were sacrificed and empires fell because of those lovely green hills by the Baltic.....?

Берёзы севера мне милы,—
Их грустный, опущённый вид,
Как речь безмолвная могилы,
Горячку сердца холодит.

(Афанасий Фет: «Ивы и берёзы», 1843 / 1856)
