For those of you who have Russian friends: it's still not late to show a fine knowledge of weird Russian customs and to say them Happy Old New Year!
That is, the New Year according to the "old style" calendar which lags 13 days behind the common one. It was widely albeit unofficially celebrated even during the Soviet times, and the New Year / Christmas tree was kept fully decorated till 14 January at almost every home.
