She's new, you don't have to yell at her.

Cecilia, here's a link to Photobucket.  :)

Thanks everyone :-) Unfortunately, none of those are the one, although I believe it may have been taken on the same day as the photo of Marie and Anastasia. (So many windy days on the ship, lol!) I appreciate very much you posting the photos, I know how long it can take.

Try the Beinecke's albums. If it was the same day as those which were posted here, it is certainly in those albums.

I have been meaning to ask, I have seen this original picture in it's album; how can we get it so big without distorting the image? For example the pictures at Yale.com are huge, yet the photos were generally the size of the ones we have now.
Believe me, it takes forever to get a picture blown up that much.  First you need a pretty good scanner (not a consumer-marketed one, I mean a big commercial one); then it takes a fair amount of blowing up, sharpening in a program like Photoshop or GIMP (maybe PSP, never used it), and so on.  I do this occasionally with my own pics and it's damn near impossible to get perfect quality with a picture as old and small as this.

Hi!

Yeah, I know...photoshop and images...my family can spend ages trying to "retouch" any kind of pictures.

I first saw this image in Michael of Greece's book: Nicholas and Alexandra: A family Album. But my book was in French, so I'll translate for those who don't speak it.

June 4th, 1909, Standart. Nicholas II, Tsarina Alexandra, their five children and Kaiser Guillaume II. Another of those meetings Willy looked forward to so much, and Nicky despited. It has been impossible, for another time, to avoid the cumbersome cousin. "Thursday June 4th, writes Nicholas in his diary, weather perfect and hot. This morning, we've been preparing for Guillaume's visit. At 10 o'clock, the Hollenzollern (the Kaiser's yatch) has arrived with a detachment and has dropped anchor. Have boarded the Hollenzollern in a small boat. Came back after half an hour, then he came on board himself on the yatch. He had brought on generous presents for the children." ...

Ther. Hope this'll help someone. At least we know which year this photo comes from!

There was a similar description in 'The Camera and the Tsars' which accompanied a picture of Nicholas and the Kaiser. It says

"The Kaiser was an inconveniant relative. Few of his cousins were at ease with him, yet diplomacy required them to be friendly. On this occasion Nicholas sailed on a barge from Standart to the Hohenzollern, stayed half an hour then left to await the return visit. A photograph was taken onboard Standart of the Kaiser, the imperial couple and their children, with the large, expensive dolls Wilhelm had brought. Everyone looks awkward in it except the Kaiser; he is grinning broadly."

The book also lists the date as June 4th 1909.

Long thought, that that familiar... Also has compared...

On a background the wing (kitchen) Katerina a palace, means Great Princess Maria Nikolaevna goes for a drive on an ice floe on Cross to the channel in Tsarskoe Selo.

Building in the distance in 1 floor one and too. On 1 photo the Cross the channel, and on 2-nd ponds inside of the channel.

Even trees the some people have remained. Peaks at water still recently were, but now it is much less than water.

The foreshortening is a little not that, but has almost guessed.

I was just wondering if it was Maria and that if the person next behind the man who's next to Maria was Alix ? I think yes, but I wasn't THAT sure...
