I think there is a photo on this sire somewhere of Kasier Wilhelm II with AOTMA. he looks realy pleased with himself and all the women look miserable. This deserves to be posted here with a caption.

I'm noticing a common theme here...and that's the vast majority of captions have to do with Anastasia saying something generally borderline appropriate or mischievous. Of course I'm not at all surprised by this and think that many of these are probably startling accurate :-)

I have a postcard from Doorn which bears a picture of the wedding reception of Victoria Louise and Ernst August of Brunswick. Years ago I captioned this with the Kaiser saying to the flunkey attending him, 'What do you mean, the schnitzel's off?'

I think the early picture here of Nicholas looking into a hedge would better be captured, 'Alexei, where have you go to this time?'

But each to their own tastes.
