Except for the physical resemblance to Tatiana there are other things like:

1. This picture is captioned as Tatiana in "Ten years aboard Imperial yacht Standart". True - captions are sometimes wrong.
2. The shape of the face, dark hair, and height - all matches Tatiana pics from the same period (aka 1907-1908).
3. The officer behind Tatiana is N. Sablin - who was assigned specially to her to take care of her. There are many pics of them together.

So the Grand Duchesses had sailors assigned to them too? I'd thought it was just Alexei. Do we have photos of the other Grand Duchesses with their sailors?

Yes, all the children had their sailor.

IMO, judging mostly by the furniture which appears in each session:

1900 - Peterhof
1901 - Peterhof
1904 - Peterhof
1906 - Tsarskoe Selo
1910 - Tsarskoe Selo
1911 - Peterhof (or Livadia?)
1913 - Tsarskoe Selo
1914 - Tsarskoe Selo
1916 - Tsarskoe Selo

Although I can't tell by the furnishings, it's also likely that the sessions featuring Tatiana and Maria as infants (1897 and 1899) were taken at Peterhof -- with the exception of Olga, all of the imperial children were born there.

Why was Peterhof such a popular location for the formals? Did they just schedule the shoots for the time they were staying there?

Same with Tsarskoe Selo? Did they just happen? (And of course why no Livadia?) (except for the maybe 1911 shoot)
