Found only few:
- Tovarich
- Ninitchka (both from 1930s)
- White Countess
- Zoya

I vaguely remember one from the 1930s which has, I think, Marlene Dietrich, escaping from Siberia by train (goods wagon) with her hairstyle intact.

Could that be White Countess?

I distinctly remember the lady with her immaculately coiffed head sticking up from the goods wagon as the train went along at high speed!

Hi,

I think that was Marlene's 1937 movie, "Knight Without Armour" which also starred Robert Donat.
She plays a Russian Countess, who wakes up to the Bolsheviks burning her home and escapes in her nightgown and slippers and hooks up with a British army officer.
Throughout the whole movie, she looks like she just came out of makeup at MGM!!!!!  Ahh!, Marlene!!!!!!!

Another star who went through a bomb blast and gunfire and a swamp with weeds - and emerged with her nylons still intact - was Madeleine Carroll in "Blockade" (1938)....

Just goes to show you - - you can't keep a glamour girl down.......

Thank you Larry. I have been trying to think of that film for ages. It was on TV when I was very young and I remember her waking up in the empty palace and escaping, but that was all. Now I will try and find it.

I did fin d it.  Amazon UK, as a US import ! Only  10 GBPs though. Amazon US though, has it only on instsant play.
