I didn't realize some of those authors you named were on here. Interesting.  Now I'll be pondering usernames and who I may have conversed with.  

I have added those listed by Helen and Petr. Douglas Smith had other books listed on his Amazon page so I have included them as well as Former People's full title.

Both Penny Wilson and Greg King contributed chapters to The Other Grand Dukes, as did Marlene Eilers-Koenig, Janet Ashton, Coryne Hall, Grant Hayter-Menzies, John van der Kiste ... Charles Stewart wrote the Introduction.

I have also a book not listed, MY FIFTY YEARS. Initially it was written by Prince Nicholas of Greece, but I added several chapters to it with the cooperation of all his living grandchildren.

The following is a wonderful interview with Douglas Smith, author of Former People , who has posted on the AP Forum. It should be of particular interest to historians since he explains his approach to writing history which I found illuminating.  By the way, he has received a contract to write a book on Rasputin. Unfortunately, given his meticulous research methods I fear it will be awhile before we see it in print.

Good stuff Petr and thanks for bringing it to our attention. I just watched it in its entirety. This is the second interview I've seen with Smith who in addition to being a top flight Russian historian and excellent writer seems like an extremely likable guy.

I'll be eager to read his Rasputin book as well when it comes out sometime during the next Presidential administration :-)

Yes, it would. Obviously, many of the authors who hang out here published works about the Romanovs or other royalty. But I listed all their books (at least the ones I know of) whether they are royal-based or not and it doesn't matter if they were fiction or non-fiction.
