+Robert (Bobby) Hall
« on: December 11, 2012, 04:22:02 PM »
Dear Forum members,

Our friend Bobby Hall, who posted here for many years, passed away earlier today. Bobby had been battling an ailment that worsened over the last few weeks. Sadly, he lost a courageous battle leaving behind many wonderful memories and strong and blessed friendships.

Bobby was among the first subscribers of Eurohistory. He always ordered all our books and purchased countless ones through us.

When I lived in San Francisco, Bobby and I used to get together at his house and talk royalty for hours. He attended our wedding and also came to several of the Eurohistory Royal Conferences. His quiet demeanor, penchant for privacy and deep loyalty made Bobby a truly unique individual.

His partner Randy will surely miss Bobby deeply, more so than any of us can imagine.

May He Rest in Peace...

So sorry to hear this. Robert's been a standard here for as long as I've been a member.

I, likewise, extend sincere sympathies to those who were close to Robert.  I never met him, other than in postings through this Forum, but he impressed me with his knowledge and to-the-point  comments.

This is so, so sad. We've been online friends (the Forum and Facebook) for years. I had always hoped to meet him in person some day as we've had so many interesting discussions and debates over the years. His stories of his travels were legendary--he had lived a really interesting, full life.  He was also so quick with a witty remark, salient point or great insight--even the quippy, withering retort (which I was on occasion the receiver of!).  He will be missed by so many friends, family and loved ones. It'll be hard to imagine the Forum without him. :( RIP.

Hello Everyone,

What a shock and very upsetting…  Thank you, Arturo, for informing us about this, as I wondered what happened to him lately.

Robert and I corresponded often, after meeting on the Alexander Palace Board as many of you others also.  He was a great asset to the Board and a good friend to me.
He always loved travelling to Britain and knew so many people there.

I convinced him to attend Arturo's conference 3 years ago in San Francisco and he joined up with several of us at Trader Vic’s that Saturday.  We had a happy time that night…

He was a good “internet friend” to me and I will miss him very much.  And this board will not be the same...

My condolences go to Randy his partner in life.  Very sad – can’t believe it…..

Larry

We had no idea.  Bob and I are so saddened and shocked.  Robert was one of our first members, a stalwart supporter and treasured contributor here.  I can not say how much he will be missed here.  I am proud to know he was a friend, and proud that he spent so much time, his precious time, here with us and gracing us with his participation.

Our heartfelt sadness and condolences to his partner.

He will so sorely be missed on these pages.

This will be a lesser place for his absence. He will always be remembered here and in our hearts.

I hope his family and extended family of friends will know how keenly he will be missed.

Rob and  Bob

Lord, that's heartbreaking. I haven't been here long and haven't always agreed with his opinions but he was an invaluable member of this board, a good person, and seemed to live life on his own terms. He reached out to me recently in PM and we exchanged a few messages even.

RIP Robert :-(

What a loss for everyone. He was such a great member of the AP. I always enjoyed his straight shooter attitude.

I'd like to add my condolences as well, and echo everyone's sentiments. I've always admired him for his knowledge and the respect he showed everyone. It's not going to be the same around here, not seeing his posts anymore.

We'll all definitely miss him. I'm so sorry to all of those especially who knew him personally.

How very sad.  Robert, with his mix of wide experience and often quirky viewpoint, was always one of my favorite posters here and one who brought grace and interest to this forum.  I wish his partner Randy all fortitude in his loss in the knowledge that Robert will be missed by so many.

Wow, my heartfelt sympathies for Randy and all of Bobby's family. I've only been here for a short time, but in that short time it's obvious that the loss of Bobby will be felt deeply here.
