Forum Members Not Heard From in a Long While

edubs - I agree that we have probably lost more members than we will ever know. I know there was a bright kind lady who posted, if I remember as Tania+. I haven't heard from her in years and she used to send me manuscripts in the regular mail. The last time I spoke with her, she was very ill.

She was often "booed" for her posting about her ancestors as there were some who did not believe in her stories and thought she was making them up.

There was also another whom we called "Bear" who had a Pooh Bear icon. I haven't heard from her in a long time either.

I also know that there are those who have been blocked by FA for various reasons or have left voluntarily as they no longer agreed with the way things are done here. Some of them I miss greatly.

I have often wondered if my husband or son would think to let the forum know if anything happened to me. Probably my son, as he is an ITech and is very aware of the sites I use and the places I post.

But perhaps I will just disappear one day and someone like you, edubs, will say, "We haven't heard from Alixz in a long time. Didn't she used to be a Moderator? I wonder where she went."

I remember Tania - she told me that her father was mentioned in the book The Years, but she never told me his name. I understood that her father was somehow involved in the abdication of the Tsar, am I correct?

Amelia - I don't know. She mostly talked about her uncle and how he had served the Tsar and as a guard. But she never did mention any names.  The manuscript she sent me was about a blind woman she knew. I still have it but I can't remember if she wanted to publish it or just have me read it.

It was all a very long time ago.

I've wondered about Tania+, too. She occasionally had months-long lapses between posts -- I presume due to her ill health -- but it's been over four years now. I'm afraid we're not likely to hear from her again.

AGRBear is still around, though not posting as frequently as she used to. Her last appearance was about 3 weeks ago.

but it doesn't take long to realize that many members who posted with regularity seem to have suddenly vanished. Some had hundreds, or even thousands, of posts to their names and yet in some cases not a single one of those were posted in the past few years. I'd have to think any community of several thousand people is going to have some who have left them over an eight or nine year period, and the AP is surely no exception.

I guess I should mention Romanov History Buff, or RHB.  She was my co-writer on Days Of OTMA's Lives, our little alternate world soap.  She was last here on November 16, 2011, and has not been heard from since.  I've sent e-mails, I've sent PM's, in the more than a year since, all have gone unanswered.   She was such an active poster and then to vanish without nary an explanation is puzzling.  I hope she's okay, but until she either contacts me or posts here again, I have no way of knowing.

Hey, RHB, if you're lurking around and reading this, let us know you're okay.

Tania+ was pretty passionate and active here and her absence doesn't bode well. In fact she sent me my first IM on this Forum and supported me in my early posting. I admired her Imperial Family devotion and Orthodox piety. I stilll do and hope I can use the present tense about her .

By the way, has anybody heard of Greenowl? Wonder what happened to her.

I really wish RHB would communicate with me, or log in and post here.  Her disappearence is strange.  There was times I used to see her here at all hours (even at three in the morning).  When she vanished, I thought maybe something had happened to her computer, but she could have borrowed a friends or gone to her local library (what I have been known to do when my computer was out of commision) to let us know.   I'm beginng to think something HAS happened to her, her complete silence for more than a year now does seem ominous. 

I hope I'm wrong, but, as I said, I have no way of knowing.

Not to encourage stalking Tim, but do you know this person's full name and where they were/are living? There are of course ways of finding out if something did happen, if you look hard enough.

I browsed on here alot before I signed up, and remember enjoying RHB's posts! Especially Days of OTMA'S lives and was gutted when that went on Hiatus I wonder where she's got to? Strange, I hope all's well with her!

Another poster who hasn't been heard from in a while is Elizabeth. I've had some wonderful dialogs with her. I hope she is well.
