Another great find. We never got to know the personality of Elisabeth, as no books were written about her or letters or diaries published.

The author was Jacques-Emile Blanche.  It must have been painted in Serbia, guess I, Since is in the National Museum in Belgrade

So a French artist, which is not surprising given the friendly relations maintained by Serbia then with France.

It was not because of that...National museum of Serbia was once called museum of Prince Paul as he "invested" in it and Olga was painted at the bequest of Prince Paul who "dragged" all kind of artworks from all over the world including from his own private collection which he inherited from his Demidov mother...

Thanks. Love to go there and look at it in the Museum one day. 

Due to dispute about either "renovating" the old National Museum or investing in new building,Museum doesn't work for more that 10 years now and nobody knows when will it start working again...

Some parts of the collection were sent for exhibitions all over the world,mostly Japan in recent years...

Apart from this portrait of Olga there were many other royal portraits(such as the portrait of Queen Marie's aunt-Infanta Beatrice of Orleans,King Ferdinand of Romania) that were gifted to the museum by the royals themselves...
