Okay, I've been waiting, like, f-o-r-e-v-e-r for someone to notice, but I can't stand it any longer.

If you go to Ekaterinburg on July 17/18 for the anniversary of the Romanov massacre you will be a day late.

They were killed during the night of July 16/17.

It's important to get there on the 16th if for no other reason than you don't want to miss the fourth annual 'Crawling Babies Championship' :-)

In all seriousness though I would love to pay my respects on the anniversary. Perhaps I'll aim high and try to make it there in 2018. If I'm going to Yekaterinburg in the first place I want to do it right. Any trip to Russia for me will have to include Moscow and St. Petersburg since I have neither the time nor the $$ to be a frequent visitor.
Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right...

Another case of a bad translation into English.  Those are actually Russian adults trying to get to the vytrezvitel (government-run sobering-up room).

I'd recommend a visit in 2017 instead of 2018.  Avoid the rush.

I would go to Russia in a heartbeat, but I will lay out for 2017 in all truth. I would visit Ganina Yama, as beautiful lilies bloom there every year for the anniversary of them along with seeing the seven chapels.

I've looked up such an expedition with a Russian tour company, and the owner advised me that going around this time may be difficult, particularly, if one wants to see the famous Ganina Yama.
