Lech 2013,Wintersport Holidays Dutch Royal Family

The Dutch Royal Family will have their annual winter holidays in Lech,Austria again as they do for the past 6 decades.
HM Queen Beatrix already arrived on monday and meanwhile HRH Prince Constantijn and his family have joined her there.
As Constantijn and Laurentien live and work in Brussels different schedules apply for the school holidays of their three children.

Other Members of the RF are expected later this week and on monday the 18th of february their will be photo-call.
It will be the last time for HM Queen Beatrix as the Monarch,a special time.

On sunday february 17th a special commemorative Holy Mass for HRH Prince Friso will be held at the Sankt Nikolaus Church in Lech and Princess Mabel and other members of the Royal Family will be in attendance there as it is exactly one year to the day since the Prince was caught in an avalange and subsequent coma in which he still is to this day.The media is kindly requested to refrain from making photographs or film & videotape the RF while attending this Mass.

It will be a warm and comforting gathering both the holidays and Holy Mass as there is a very strong bond between the dutch RF and the people in Lech, a warm and discrete understanding and sympathy ever since the early 1960's days of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard.

Willem Alexander,Máxima and their girls left for Lech by Royal train departing via the Royal waitingroom at Amsterdam Central this evening.
And old tradition,new life as in the days of Queen Juliana the RF went on winter holidays by train,mainly from the Royal waitingroom at Baarn,
close to Soestdijk.

Meanwhile the entire Royal Family has arrived in Lech where HM already is since last monday.

Apparently the RF will not attend the Holy Mass in remembrance of Prince Friso,contrary to a former statement.
But at the old church of Lech a candle burns next to a picture of the Prince as a sign Lech hasn´t forgotten him.
The special Holy Mass for the Prince will be at the new,St.Niklaus church of Lech.

Minimally on topic, let me say that Lech  is  a beautiful little village, classically appealing Austrian alpine flavor.I'd say offseason, too,except that there is no bad time to be there. I was there decades ago and wish I could have spent more time there.
