As rich as Eleanor Roosevelt was she always was more interested in helping those who were not. Her dress, at first, made me think 1920s but then a good look shows the evolution into the 1930s. In good taste as always.

Of course, Jackie had incredible fashion sense. I really like the yellow gown.

Maybe Michelle's dress is better in person. I am not sure I see much about politics in her dress design and while I normally think she is one of the best dressed ladies in the country, that gown, even on TV, didn't inspire me. How an Inaugural dress could be selected with out private fittings is a mystery. Normally the designer would want to be sure that the fit was superb and not let a dress be worn without supervision and tailoring. Not to be too critical but the only "hope" I see is that she won't wear anything like that at the second inaugural.  ;-)

Very much a design of its time.

It could be considered timeless without the pink ribbons. But I imagine that the ribbons were considered quite a fashion statement in their decade.

But on the other hand it is "little girlish" even for the late 50s early 60s.

I agree with you, Alixz.  I'd like it better without the ribbons!
