lol, I was thinking the same thing. That or a lousy shutter speed on the camera.

Is that Dmitri Pavlovich on the far left and GD Michael in the middle next to Alexandra? And I'm guessing that's Dmitri seated on the bench next to Nicholas & Alexei in that other shot. Always a little strange seeing him with the family in 1916 knowing that in just a few months he's going to involve himself in the murder of Rasputin and be much reviled by the IF.

Those photos of OM & TA together are stunning! Should be the front and back covers of a photo album!

Yes, I believe so.

I agree.

Thnak you once more, Tatiana, those photos taken along the Dnieper River (and at Stavka -either at Baranovichi or Mogilev) have always been my favourite ones, even since I entered this fandom 8 years ago. That was their last 'imperial' summer.

I am filled with so much sadness when I look at photos of their last happy summer... Makes you wonder if they realized how soon everything was going to change for them.

Fantastic photo of Olga & Maria on the  Dnieper.  It really captures how much they looked alike.

The two Dnieper photos are great, casual but still beautifully posed.

It's interesting to see more photos of Anastasia from 1916. I have a hard time fixing an image in my head of what she would have looked like as a adult because there are so few photos of her with her hair up compared to her sisters. In 1916, though, she's clearly growing up but not there yet.
