Not sure if this is rare or not:

My guess is Tsarskoye Selo 1917?

Your guess is right. I've seen it, but that one is little fuller. The older man with beard on the far left is Chemodurov, whom we have thought that we hadn't seen any photo of him before.

Thank you, Inok Nikolai, for amazing details on the rabbit-story from June of 1917.

Beautiful. It must be from the same day as this one. The family's 1913 photo is hanging on the wall.

For this photo, we can even furnish an exact date: June 27, 1917.

And tell the fascinating story behind it.

That's so interesting! I've wondered how the photos taken during the family's arrest were saved, but I don't think it's been discussed in any book I've read.

There's also another, slightly different photo of that moment.

Tatiana, Anastasia and Olga, 1917

Lovely photos! Especially this, previously I'd only seen a low-quality version where the girls were like white blurs. Here even the photographer's hat is visible at the bottom. I again feel that Tatiana looks the least healthy of the girls.

I've uploaded it to PB so you all can have it in the fuller size that I do:

In the top photo there is of course Derevenko on the left, as well as that woman (nurse/governess)often appearing with the children in photos of that era. Anyone know who she is?

Rodney_G, that is OTMA's and later Aleksei's nanny, Maria Ivanovna Vishnyakova, she was fired by Empress Alexandra, (or simply - she left the Court under suspicious circumnstances) in 1911, after 'having an affair' with Rasputin.

I think it's rare to see any photo, that hasn't been cropped, with only one of the Grand Duchesses in it!

Thanks, Nena. I knew of Maria Vishnyakova, and had seen her in several photos, but hadn't connected the name with the face before.

This knowledge wil help me date IF photos in the future.
