The photos of Olga posted on the balcony are very interesting in that it's obvious how much weight she has lost in the time between the time one was taken and the other. The murderers remarked on how thin she was. So clearly the weight loss had begun long before imprisonment. Presumably it was due to nursing work and stress over the course of the War - she would surely have read the papers, even if she hadn't heard the chatter of the St Petersburg drawing rooms.

"Oh my lord and stars!" is exactly what I'm thinking.  This is the first time I've seen this picture uncropped.  I forget, for whom are the Grand Duchesses in mourning?

It's actually a different one  of that day....TN is not behind Marie and Olga like in the other one.
They are dressed to attend  the last state funeral of Imperial Russia...for their father's cousin,
Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich  in 1915

I did a double-take on this as well. Olga and Marie appear to be in the exact same pose as the photo we're used to seeing, but I knew right away something didn't fit with Tatiana. Wasn't sure if it was simply an uncropped version of the classic photo or something different, but I realize now the latter!

Great find. Amazing and unique outfits on the GDs! A nice change from the typical white/light dresses and navy blue (I'm guessing) sailor suits we're used to seeing them in. Too bad it was for KR's funeral. One of the most likable Romanovs in my opinion.

This is full regalia Imperial garb...they don't even look like the 20th century ..really a Russian court dress  . Now I know how far down the veil went. It's amazing to see another photo from that day after seeing the other one from the start as its in Maisie's book . It was a funeral for KR, but also a world
