But guys, is that me or it seems that we have more pre-war Romanov pictures that those taken from 1914 on....? IMHO, I think that those from 1914 on are more rare.

Because there were vacations, etc...pre-war it's not surprising there are seemingly more photos from that time period. Plus, all those photos were from the Hesse Archives--as they become more accessible, more photos will appear to the public. Also, the royal families were covered in the press and via postcards, etc...in that pre-war period so there were a large number of photos in the public venue than during the war when the focus shifted.

Simply remarkable. And though it's been said before, these only confirm that there are untold more Romanov photos, as well as other artifacts, just waiting to be made accessible.

One can't help but notice that in any of these photos in which there are children near Marie, her budding 'maternal' instincts are already apparent. She was attracted to  little children like bees to honey. Very sweet to behold.

I love the one of Tatiana leaning on the ship's railing. For some reason small gestures like that and Olga fixing her sweater collar in the video of their cruise at Mogilev make them incredibly human to me.

BlessOTMA used that one as a model when she painted the picture of my cat, Tatiana, doing that same pose.   That picture now hangs proudly over my computer desk.
