You said exactly what I was thinking! I don't know much about jewelry, even though I did see the jewels in person back in '98! Just know that they always looked lovely in whatever they were wearing. I'll go with the Faberge eggs too if that's allowed...and specifically the one presented by Carl Fabergé to the Tsar in celebration of the Romanov tercentenary in 1913...

Am I too late?

1) Favorite Grand Duchess  -- Olga Nicholaievna Romanova.
2) Favorite estate -- Any place they stayed while at the Crimea Peninsula, of course. Fresh air, excellent climate, and the Black Sea. :-D Finland skerries are not that bad, of course.
3) Favorite Tiara -- the one Empress Alexandra wore during 1911 photo-shoot.

Day 3:  My favorite tiara is of Romanov origin, but it now belongs to the Hesse family.  It's made from diamond ears of wheat that were on one of the gowns in Grand Duchess Alexandra Nikolaevna's trousseau; she married Prince Friedrich-Wilhelm of Hesse-Kassel in 1844 , but died only six months after her wedding, and most of her jewels remained in Russia.  Sometime in the early 1900s, her husband's second wife, Princess Anna of Prussia, had the ears of wheat from her gown into the tiara, which is now the family's traditional wedding tiara.  Just a bit of history for anyone unfamiliar with the story

I arrived really late, anyways, I decided to join....

Day one: My favorite Grand Duchess is Anastasia Nikolaevna
Day two: My favorite residence is Alexander Palace
Day three: I adore kokoshniks, hmmmm... I love the kokoshnik style tiara -diamonds and pearls- used by Empress Alexandra at the opening of the Duma in 1906.
