So much to post…
Day 8: (Favorite formal photo) That 1914 photo where all of them are looking through an album. It gives a sweet feeling of reminiscence. How I long to have a hold of that photo album, too!
Day 9: (Favourite Alexei’s photo) There’s a picture of Alexei with his dog Joy sitting on grass, and it was posted before by TatianaZ… a big screencap from GD Olga Nikolaevna’s photo album online ~
Day 10: (Favorite past Romanov) It’s Adini~! Plus, reading that Dru is doing a thesis about her makes me wish that she could finally publish that as a book someday because those she knows definitely aren’t yet common knowledge! I hope all the best for you, Dru ^^
Oh my dear, I wish my university also lets students do thesis like yours! I could have enjoyed my whole thesis life had that been the case here~
Day 11: (Favorite Emperor/Empress) I love Empress Alix! Belated happy 141st birthday to her!
Day 12: (Favorite 1903 Winter Palace Costume Ball Outfit) I only know Empress Alix’s so that’s my pick.
Day 13: (Romanovs you ship together) Alexei and Princess Astrid of Sweden who later became Queen of the Belgians!
Day 14: (Favorite child of Alexander III) Nicholas II. Despite some imperfections (halo, none’s perfect), he’s one of the most ideal husbands I’ve known throughout Earth’s history.
Day 15: (Favorite Child of Tsar Nicholas I) Adini again. Like what Dru said about her ; )
Day 16: (Best Alexandra photograph) It’s not really a solo photo of Alix but there’s this one taken of her, her sister Irene, QV & Prince Eddy in Balmoral (1881) where she was smiling sweetly. Her happiness comes out from her eyes on that photo!
Day 17: (Favorite Romanov movie) None. I haven’t watched one…
Day 18: (Favorite staff member) Pierre Gilliard. I love how he loves his students. I assume he also has albums with tones of pictures of them, but unfortunately they are in the hiding.
Day 19: (Favourite Mode of Transport) Standart, too!
Day 20: (Favourite Royal Relative) Hahaha, same with my dearie Yelena :: Aunt Alix, the Queen of King Edward VII : )
Day 21: (Romanov you loathe) The Vladimirovich branch, indeed!
Day 22: (Favourite ancestor of NAOTMAA) Yes, Peter the Great. So many things took a new turn in his time.
PS. Yelena~!! Very lovely avatar of Mashka!

Amazing colored fotos  by the most wonderful Yelena Aleksandrovna. Endless thank you very much!

Day 23: Most accurate biography of the IF.

Not sure if it's fair to choose a photo album book, but "Love, Power, and Tragedy" is wonderful. Lots of information as well as photos.

Hi Grand Princess Shandroise!  Believe it or not, my goal really is to publish that book!  I'm working on my MFA in creative writing, and I have to write a book-length manuscript--I've spent years researching for this project, and I've had to translate most of my materials from German and Russian.  Most of my sources are pretty obscure, since Adini's story is not very well-known.  I hope you and others here on the Forum would like to read it, if I am fortunate enough to get it published one of these days :)

Day 23:  I'm going to pick Romanov Autumn as well, if only because it covers more than Nicholas II and his family.

Day 22: Peter the Great

Day 23: Hm, I haven't really read any Romanov books to tell you the truth as most of my research is done online! I've read some of Nicholas and Alexandra so I'll go with that.

Day 23: Personally I haven't read any bio about the IF, the only source with biographical information about a Romanov that I've read are the Memoirs of Catherine the Great but it doesn't count.

Day 24: My favorite photo of NII is the next (he looks handsome and regal)

PD: Good luck with your Adini project Dru, I expect you can publish it really soon! :-)
And dear Shammy, glad you liked my Mashka avatar!!! :-)

I agree Tim but will go more specific...

How about Tatiana setting up that committee to assist with displaced/refugees during the war? Apparently it continued to operate even after her death. A nice legacy.
Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right...
