Day 10: Favorite past Romanov. I think they mean past as in a few hundred years as opposed to just one century.

I'll go with Peter the Great. It's pretty interesting how he made Russia more European.

I'm not sure either. I'd say Alexander II, but we need further back. The only ones I know anything substantial about are Peter, Catherine II, and Ivan the Terrible. Not gonna go with Ivan. lol Peter and Catherine both did great things for Russia. I like how Peter learned shipbuilding from the Dutch...so I'll go with Peter. Catherine runs a close second.

Day 10:  My favorite past Romanovs are all forgotten grand duchesses who died young and tragically:  Alexandra Pavlovna, Alexandra Nikolaevna, Elizaveta Mikhailovna, etc, but my very favorite is Adini.

Ah, yes, I do remember reading about them at some point. They all died as teenagers in childbirth. It sure makes you appreciate living in the 21st century with medical care.

Peter the Great would be the "past" Romanov I find the most interesting, but not necessarily my personal favorite.

Day 11: Favorite Emperor or Empress.

I'll have to go with Nicholas/Alexandra, I guess. Not a fan, but theirs is the reign I know most about.

Day 11:  I don't have a favorite emperor, but my favorite empress is Elizaveta Alexeievna, wife of Alexander I.
