Missing Faberge Eggs?

His research is excellent and he presents a timeline of the eggs including a recent discovery of some hitherto unknown eggs. He presents some interesting hypotheses including the believe that there were no eggs for 1904 and 1905. The most interesting discovery is the belief that the Resurrection Egg was in fact the surprise in the Renaissance Egg. The two were recently reunited at a Faberge exhibition and they fit perfectly. I am curious what others think. The interesting thing is all of Alexandra's eggs are accounted and the missing ones are for Marie... WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Did you read the descriptions I outlined I think its fascinating the way the Resurrection Egg fits into the Renaissance Egg... Meik's timeline is also interesting and makes sense. The scholarship is solid.

I haven't read each one in full, but yes and I find it quite fascinating. Good stuff, and again thanks for posting!

Miek's website is wonderful and the research very thorough. It is very interesting that only some of Marie F's eggs are now unaccounted for. The "Mauve" Egg surprise which was according to documentary evidence in the Faberge papers a heart shaped locket on a pedestal containing a clover shaped frame of three water colours appears to have turned up at an exhibition in London in the mid 1930s and was believed to have been lent by Grand Duchess Xenia A. Later still the "surprise" was acquired by Malcolm Forbes. If the exhibit lent by Xenia A and later purchased by Forbes is the same surprise as contained within the "Mauve" Egg it seems prossible that Marie F. may have managed to bring the surprise out of russia with her and left it to Xenia. If this is the case than perhaps the Mauve Egg came too along with others such as the "Danish", the 1909 Alexander III the "Empire Nephrite" and even the "Necessaire". The information and photographic evidence about the Cherub with the Chariot Egg is absolutely fascinating too. Miek's site is a real gem!!!!
