If you missed out last time or interested in purchasing a copy for a relative or special friend, copies of the reprinted book are now available through Amazon.com:

See: http://www.amazon.com/Alexander-III-His-Life-Reign/dp/1927604036/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_d_2

Although copies of this book sold out at Amazon.com recently, the good news is that more are now available!

Thought I would share this recent feedback (in part) regarding my book on Amazon.com

(Thank you Jacqueline!) ...

"Ms. Nelipa's book about Alexander III is by far one of the BEST books I have read.......PERIOD! I thank her for her very thorough research that gives real insight into the life of Alexander III, his politics surrounding war, and his powerful love for his family. Added bonuses were the pictures and the very personal diary entries and letters written by and to Alexander III. I also like how Ms. Nelipa placed pictures that corresponded to the subject matter in the chapter at the end of each respective chapter. I cannot wait to read her next book!!!!!!! "

While copies remain, why not acquire a copy of this book at the same time as you consider purchasing my newest book that deals with his grandson, Tsesarevich Alexei Nikolayevich?

Thank you in advance,

Margarita

For Christmas, why not consider my biography " ALEXANDER III: His Life and Reign"?

My copy of Alexander III arrived yesterday!

I just took a short look in it.
On page 1 is a mistake - Adinis son is not buried with his mother but in Hessen.

Regarding this point, I relied on a Russian source, and am happy that you brought this detail to my attention.

I trust that the rest of the book will appeal to you.

Hi Margarita

I just recently finished reading this fine book. Overall it is of better quality than your book on the Murder of Rasputin. The only error I was able to find was on page 24 when it has the "...seizure of the Kronstadt naval base." This did not happen during the Crimean war. See wiki and there is a book "The British Assault on Finland 1854-1855" . The book "Before the Ironclad I believe discusses a planned British attack on Kronstadt that would have happened if the war had gone on.
In the book "Diary of General Vladimir Mikilovich Bezobrazov Commander of the Russian Imperial Guard" mentions a General Alexei V Von Schwartz who was given permission by Nicholas II to write a bio of Alexander III , but WW I broke out and he was never able to write it.
I am also writing an article on the Tsar's air defense for Over the Front magazine and will be using your Rasputin book as one of the sources. Col Maltsev  who is in the book is also mention in Alexandra's 16 August 1916 and 6 September 1916 letters and is mentioned in the book "With The Russian Army volume 2 pages 467-8 Alfred Knoz. If ever find anything else on him and the air security regiment  could you let me know this would be of help for the article.

For more information on the Russo-Turkish war which Alexander III was in see the books:
War in the East
Russo-Turkish War 1877-78

Hi JamesAPrattIII,

Thank you for letting me know that you enjoyed my book on AIII.

The only information I could find on Col. Maltsev is provided in my Rasputin book - see Appendix 8. So far there is no more to be found.

Thanks for the additional references.

Who are you writing your article for and when do you anticipate its publication?

Best regards,

Margarita

Over the Front magazine is what I am writing the article for. It is the publication of the league of WW I aviation historians. Search Overthefront.com. I am hopefully going to finish it sometime next year. I don't know if or when it will be printed.

Hi Margarita

Col Maltsev  ... If ever find anything else on him and the air security regiment  could you let me know this would be of help for the article.

Hello JamesAPrattIII ,

I found new information for you:

Mal’tsev, Vladimir Nikanorovich

"Education received at the 3rd Moscow Military School, after its completion in 1894, entered military service.  In 1896 finished the course at the Alekseyevskii Military School and subsequently served several artillery units. Participant in the Russo-Japanese War 1904-1905, as the senior officer of the Artillery Battery. In January 1909 – the Shtabs-Captain of the 1st reserve artillery brigade. Then, as a company commander, employed as a permanent staffer at the Officer’s Artillery School. During the years of the First World War at the front: from November 1914 – chief of the nonstandard anti-aircraft-artillery defense of the emperor’s residence in Tsarskoe Selo and from May 1915-17 – the Commander of the Separate Artillery Battery, in charge of the defense of the emperor’s residence from air attack. In 1916, on the basis of combat experience, developed the range-finder for the aerial gunnery. On 3 March 1917, removed from his post and arrested. From July 1917, participant in the reserve ranks of the Petrograd Military District. During Civil War years – Inspector of the 4th Cavalry Corps Artillery unit in the Voluntary Army (Caucasus). Hope these details interest you,

Hi Margarita
Thanks! This is just what I needed.  I will be reading your book on Alexei one day. I found 2 pictures of him at the US NHHC naval Historical and Heritage Commands site historynavy.mil:

NH100134 Nicholas and Alexei on the Imperatristsa maria 12/25 may 1916 the man above Alexei's head with the white beard and Khaki Uniform is naval minister Ivan K Grigorvich

NH100162 Nicolas and Alexei at the Sevastopol seaplane base 13/25 may 1916 to the left the seaplane is a Grigorovich and the funnel next to it belongs to the seaplane carrier Imperator Nicholai I

One of the main sources for my article" Attack on the Slava" in OTF 30-1 is a book "Expendable Glory" by George Nekrasov an Australian of Russian ancestry.
