They were best friends and tied togather by understanding and love.

Yes, they did seem to have a very happy marriage, at least in the beginning. The rest of the family were not so taken by her. Queen Louise called her a rough diamond that needed to be polished, but she turned out to be more rough than expeced.

Marie was unique in her way and so was her husband. They understood their differences and did not sought to change the other. Viva la Difference !
