The reason why it seems they're invisible is because they renounced their rights to the throne to marry for love.

Prince Waldemar had 4 sons and 1 daughter:

1.Prince Aage later Count of Rosenberg (1887-1940) m. Matilda Calvi de Bergolo (1885-1949). And they had one son Waldemar (1915-95) m. Baroness       Floria d'Huart Saint-Mauris (1925-       1995).

2. Prince Axel of Denmark (1888-1964) m. Princess Margaret of Sweden (1899-1977)
      i. Prince George (1920-86) m. Anne Bowes-Lyon (1917-80), niece of the Queen Mother. no issue

ii. Prince Flemming, later Count of Rosenberg (1922-2002) m. Alice Nielson (1924- ) His children are the only surviving descendants of Prince Waldemar                               , the eldest sons are twins:

                 a. Count Axel of Rosenberg (1950- )

                 b. Count Birger of Rosenberg(1950- )

                 c. Count Carl Johann of Rosenberg (1952- )

                 d. Countess Desiree of Rosenberg (1955- )

all are on their second marriages

Details of how their interest in history, can't help you. But there is only four of them and I'm sure at least one cares for their history enough to share with you.

They have several grandchildren and great-grandchildren living. Their daughter, Margarethe, was the last to pass away, dying in 1992.

Margarethe (who married Empress Zita's brother Rene of Bourbon-Parma) and Axel (who married his cousin's daughter Margarethe of Sweden, sister of Queen Astrid of Belgium and CPss Marta of Norway) were the only 2 to marry royalty.

Other than the ones I just mentioned the only others are the children of Margrethe and Prince Rene' of Bourbon-Parma. They had four children:

1. Prince Jacques of Bourbon-Parma (1922-1964) m. Countess Birgitte von Holstein-Ledreborg (1922- ). no issue

2. Princess Anne (1923- ) m. King Michael of Romania (1921- ) who have 4 daughters Margarita, Irana, Helen, and Sophie.

3. Prince Michael of Bourbon-Parma (1926- ) who has 5 children of his own

4. Prince Andre' Marie of Bourbon-Parma (1928- )

But when it comes to Danish relations, Axel is the only who has danish descendants of Waldemar but the Parmesans shouldn't be left out.

1.Christian, Count of Rosenborg who in turn had two children, Count Valdemar and Komtesse Marina, who do attend some royal functions.
2. Komtesse Alexandra of Rosenborg, who has three children.

Princess Margrethes son, Prince Jacques had three children with his Danish wife, and they live in Denmark.

Princess Margrethe was born on 17 september 1895 in Denmark.
She was the only daughter of Prince Valdemar of Denmark (1858-1939) and Marie Amélie, Princess of Orléans (1865-1909). Her father was the brother of king Frederik VIII of Denmark, of the Queen Alexandra of Great Britain and of the Empress Maria Feodorovna of Russia. Her mother Marie was a direct descendant of the french king Louis-Philippe Ier of Orléans.
She gained the title of Princess Margrethe of Denmark and was baptised with the name of Margrethe Françoise Louise Marie Joseph Hélène of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg.

The Princess had four elder brothers : the Princes Aage (1887-1940), Axel (1888-1966), Erik (1890-1950) and Viggo (1893-1970).

She married Prince René of Bourbon-Parma in 1921 and had by him four children :
- Prince Jacques (1922-1964)
- Princess Anne (born 1923)
- Prince Michel (b.1926)
- Prince André (b.1928)

In 1948, her daughter Anne married ex-king Michael of Romania. The family lives in Switzerland as civil citizens.

Princess Margrethe died on 18 september 1992 at age 97.

If you want, you can post others infos about this princess on this thread. Thanks.

Princess Margrethe and Prince René settled in Paris after their marriage. They didn't have much to live on, and after Hitlers invasion of Paris in 1941 they had to flee the city and Margrethe had many difficulties securing the families safety. After getting financial help from her sister-in law, Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg, the family moved to USA. Her she took a job in a department store until 1945 when the family moved to Denmark. After Prince Renés death in 1962 she moved around from place to place staying in France, Monaco and Denmark.
Life wasn't always easy for this high spirited lady, but she took it with her good humor and strenght. She said
"I had to sell all my jewelry, and when I had to dress up, I borrowd from Princess Margaretha (whom she was very close to). I have always been more interesed in travelling, then spending money on close."

You can find a copy in William Lead Malor's Royalty Between the Wars. Great book! (Also Royalty Before the War)

I won't go into all the IDs here (not that I could name everyone anyway!) but you can see MF right below George of Greece and GDss Olga A in the back, center. Marie Greece (Bonaparte) is over the groom's shoulder to the right (print dress) with Waldemar next to her (between her and George, very fitting). Crown Prince Frederick is on the far left and I think Aunt Swan is the lady in the back in white. Christian X is in the far back (way away from his aunt Minny!) and Axel of Denmark is next to Olga.

I was struck by the photo of the two Marie's with their husbands....notice George has his round Waldemar's arm. Marie B. looks sort of dismayed, whereas Marie Orleans looks as if she's used to it by now!  ::)
