The Last Tsar: Emperor Michael II

I recently finished reading this book. It's the first I've ever read anything about Michael and I loved it. However, I swear when Miechen was mentioned, she was referred to as a he. And not just once, but several times. Did anyone else notice this? Or is my memory totally wrong? Also, I read this on my kindle and I've noticed kindle books tend to have a lot of typos. Maybe this is only in the kindle edition? I don't know. True, I'm only on my third book but I feel like it happens often. I'd look up the page numbers but there aren't any.

I considered buying this book, but when I looked at the Amazon preview I saw that at least half the chapter titles were the same as in the author's Michael and Natasha. Does anyone know whether The Last Tsar is mostly a reprint of material from Michael and Natasha the way it looks like in the preview?
