I know two versions of the departure of Helen in 1930, after the return of Carol in  Romania.

The first version, heard in a documentary claiming that the first step that took Carol to his return from Bucharest was to bring his mistress Magda Lupescu and Helen away by forcing her into exile abroad.

Another version, in a second documentary, says that despite his promise to get back together with Helen, Carol brought back his mistress Magda Lupescu in Bucharest and the learner, Helen decided to leave Romania on her own initiative. What is the truth in this matter ? Thank You in advance.

Helen and Michael attending the national festivities in Romania with their right to Princess Olga of Yugoslavia. On the white horse in front of them stood the Prince Nicolas :

You mean she "called" her Amama. It is a Danish/Greek Royal family tradition. Princess Alexandra of Greece (later Queen of Yugoslavia, niece of Helen) called her grandmother Queen Sophie "Amama" too.

All Greek royal children had probably call their grandparents this way. I know that Princess Marina also named her paternal grandparents "Apapa" and "Amama".

Yes...Queen Olga & King George I was called that of course. Queen Sophie continued the tradition. I don't know if Queen Frederica was "Amama' ?

I read in a book about Helen that she called Queen Olga Omama. Strange that Marina called her Amama

I think that miki's point was that, according to what she's read, the granddaughters called her similar but different names Omama vs Amama.

Yes but never granny or grandmama...I think Queen Louise of Denmark started it...as you can see in Prince Nicholas of Greece's memoirs.  :)
