I thought it was a 1V as they did not link at the top, but now you say it is an N I can see you are right and it is most likely where it has worn over the years. Many Thanks. Every piece of information is very important to getting to finding out about this historical badge and I am very grateful. The journey it has taken me on over the last 2 years has been like a key opening up the past from 100 years ago which otherwise I would not have known anything about.
