My dad has now been telling people that I'm "vary good at coloring" when ever we are at church and I'm working on a photo, even my mom said it once (after seeing this picture I colored, even said that it "looked like a painting") but she still thinks its a faze...haha yea...right...so not a faze.

Lynn

That's a very nice picture.
People always think it's weird that Im so obssesed with the Romanovs. In a previous post I mentioned that I used to have pictures of the Romanovs in my binder.
Some people even ask me, "Are you Russian?" Eventually, you get used to this.
One time a girl in my class saw a book I was reading about the Romanovs and she asked me, "Are those the people from the movie Anastasia?"
And then we had a nice conversation about it. She has seen the movie before and I told them what really happened to Anastasia and her family.
It's the only conversation I've had with somebody in person about the Romanovs.

It is nice atleast they are known widely because of that movie, though not what happened in reality.

Well, I had not so nice comments on my 'obsession' such as: 'why care for the dead?' - I have read even worse things on here.

Yet one teacher seems to 'share' my passion for royalty, she knows about Sisi and the basics about most ruling houses, and she understands why I am into royalty, the Romanov's and history - most people consider it odd, these days.

Lullaby Princess, I’m so happy we are just the same age (are you turning 16 this year?) and we both love Marie! (My icon speaks about it!)
In my side, my parents and sisters don’t love history. I’m the only one who already has had read a lot of papers about anyone from world history. Among my sisters, I was the only one who read all the encyclopedias in our home. They don’t like reading (except if it’s for school’s sake).

You're just really so good at coloring Lynn (",) I love to print that one, May I?

Of Course! thanks!

Also, GD_Lynn!  I've never seen that picture before!  It took my breath away when I saw it, you did such a beautiful job with the coloring.  Of course it's not a phase, it's more like a hobby and that's not a bad thing!  (:

Thanks! that what I keep telling her. that's its a hobby I love its just like her and knitting.

Well, a friend of mine saw my book, "Nicholas and Alexandra" and asked what it was about. I basically told her about the Romanovs and their murder. Then my friend said "Oh, wait, wasn't Alexandra that one queen who was getting it on with that Rasputin guy? Is that a dirty book?"
XD

It's unfortunate, though, that such a wonderful family is remembered that way, thanks to Bolshevik propaganda.

I know how you feel, Katie.

While none of my friends have made comments like that, their eyes tend to glaze over when I start talking about the Romanovs.

God bless the Alexander Palace Time Machine and the great people who run it.  They give us a place to come and talk about the family we love and admire.
Cats: You just gotta love them!
