During war, Alexander's sister Helen invited her brother (she was married to GD Ioann Konstantinovich) to come in Russia, and by then, Olga worked as a nurse in hospitals, they met , and had some talks. About Alexander's feelings towards Olga Nicholaievna I don't know.

I think Alexander 'fell in love at first site with Olga".  This is briefly mentioned in a biography of Missy by H. Pakula when discussing Alexander's choice of Mignon as a wife and consort.

My sincere apologies! I looked in my book, and saw sometimes I was right, sometimes I wasn't.

Serbian delegation, on head with N. Pashic visited Russia (Odessa, where Serbia got consulate), In late April of 1916.

But, Alexander's attempt happened earlier in February of 1914 (before visiting Romania), during Christening of son of Helen of Serbia (sister of Alexander) and GD Ioann Kontantinovich, N. Pashic and Prince-regent Alexander arrived to Russia.

N.PAshic:

''If it would be fate for us to have daughter of Russian Emperor for Queen, she would be gladly accepted by Serbian people, and if God would allow, she might be become Tsarina....''

Nicholas II:

''For Serbia, we will do everything, greet the King, and say to him so. ''

Nicholas' diary entry from January 12th mentions Christening of Prince Vsevolod Ivanovich. Probably Nicholas' didn't mention this meet. I guess because of many people there, he mentioned only important lines during that day. So, probably meet was in January, not in February, but have to check Nicholas' February entries too. (?).

I've long considered Prince Alexander of Serbia as Olga N.'s most serious suitor and most likely husband had the revolution not happened.

They met during the marriage and courtship of Prince Ioann K with Princess Helen (Elena) of Serbia. Over the years, Elena was their go-between, much as Ella was between Nicky and Alix during their courtship. Even after the Revolution, she continued to be in contact with both as much as she could. Charlotte Zeepvat mentions this in "Romanov Autum" - I don't remember which chapter. She even went to the Ipatiev House to try to speak with the IF, including her friend, Olga N.

White investigators were received by Alexander when he was King and while they were making their way to Western Europe. Hearing about her death, he reportedly lost his composure and cried. It is notable that in spite of his marriagability, he did not marry Mignon until after he was certain that Olga N was not alive.

Serbian book about NII, AF, and Ella Feodorovna, translated into English -- 'Love is stronger than death', around 800 pages. Done very well, but in Church spirit of writing. Many photos included, etc, quotes, diary entries.
Helen and Ioaan married in 1911.

Yes, I have heard Alexander cried when heard Olga died in 1918.  :-( . Look:

This is very interesting. Is there any more information about it,  such as Olga's own personal thoughts and feelings , or that of the Emperor's and Empress's ?

If we are able to read Olga's 1914 diary, we might find out something, I am sure. There is only Nicholas' quote from that book. I'll see better, if I find something, I'll post.  ;-)

Alexander saw her; Olga saw him. Did they ever have a chance to talk to each other? Did Alexander ever send Olga a gift or letter?  Before, I thought Alexander wants to marry Olga because of political reasons. Just until Her Majesty Lisa Davidson told us that excerpt above, I now fully believe in Alexander’s sincerity. If only he had moved so quickly, he must have taken Olga as his Queen just before WWI started. Poor Olga! She must have known someone really loved her more than Shakh-Bagov did! Aside from that, they look good together. Alexander’s better than Carol of Romania (and even Shakh), IMHO (“,)

Definitely it might be political reasons, but I think he loved Olga, I read how much he cried during summer of 1918.I suppose they talked too. I think during war Helen invited Alexander to visit Russia, and A. did, Olga was nurse by that time. I don't know -- maybe Olga mentioned something in her diary. I'll have to look in my book about Alexander more.

Alexander I and Carol of Romania, 1931. (Alexander married his sister Mignon)> Wonder what about they were talking? About woman both of them two loved -- Olga?

Gosh! Carol loved Olga,too? Gosh!
Thank you, nena!
Oh it's so good that they talked about her together. I can't imagine what would Olga feel.
Who would have been better between them? I wonder....

I am still looking for any diary entries or excerpts  from letters by Olga Nikolaevna about her thoughts  and feelings about Alexander,  but still haven't had any luck. I know of several young men whom Olga seemed infatuated with, but I have not heard of Alexander to be one of them. I do think it 's very touching how he had sadly reacted to news of Olga Nikolaevna's death.

Carol loved Olga,too?

I don ‘t think Carol was in love with Olga.  From what I ‘ve read, neither of them made an impression on each other when they had met..  However,  didn 't Carol apparently favour Olga ‘s sister Maria , and when Carol asked their father , Nicholas only laughed and said that Maria was still only a schoolgirl..
