Prince Nikolai Romanovich passed away in Tuscany aged 92.

His younger brother Prince Dimitri announced the death of his brother as a great loss.

R.I.P. Nikolai Romanovitch

Do we have more details about Prince Nikolai's life? From what I know about him, he seems always to have behaved in a dignified fashion and avoided pushing himself into the limelight.

Nicholas Romanovich was succeeded as President of the RFA by his brother Dmitri Romanovich. Dmitri died on 31 December 2016.

With his death, the Nicholievichi branch of the family becomes extinct in the male line.

In deference to Prince Nicholas Romanovich, the RFA at present does not have a formal head or President.

The current head of the Romanov Family Association is HH Princess Olga Andreevna of Provender, Kent, UK.
